Makkas Rosé ( RODOSTAFYLO) 2014 is produced from the superior local grape varieties of Lefkada and Maratheftico which are cultivated in the Pafos mountainous region of Cyprus. The careful selection of the grapes, the control of the cultivations and the wine making process, have contributed to bringing out to the ultimate point the intense bouquet the grapes of this special vine production land can give. Makkas Rose is characterized by bouquets of morello and strawberry with a slight sense of pomegranate. Medium body with very good acidity. Serve at 8-10 C.
Grapes are sourced from the vineyards situated in all Paphos Area (Kili, Tsada, Statos-Agios Fotios and Panayia). The vineyards are of attitude (Lefkada) 550-650m, (Maratheftiko) 800-1000m, where the density of vines are approximately 3000 per hectare, at average yields of 40HI/Ha. The average age of productive vines are (Lefkada) 20 years, (Maratheftiko) 5 years.
The grapes are destemmed and crushed, fermented at thermo-controlled temperate of 14˚C, with an average cryoextraction time of 18-24 hours.
Different meats dishes (like lamb), Asian and Japanese cuisine with salmon and swordfish and pasta with light sauces.
