Medium-full body, fruity with light tannins, aromas of caramel and blackberry with flavours of leather.
One of the most popular varieties in the field. It is lightweight, with a sense of freshness, consumed early while lower tannins make it suitable for those who do not prefer dry wines. Characterized by aromas of caramel and of berries with intense notes of vanilla. It is served at 16-18 ° c.
Grapes are sourced from the vineyards situated in all Paphos Area (Letimbou, Choulou, Polemi and Statos-Agios villages). The vineyards are of attitude 450-650m, where the density of vines are approximately 3000 per hectare, at average yields of 30HI/Ha. The average age of productive vines are 15 years.
Harvesting period is between 20th August to 5th September. The grapes are destemmed and crushed, fermented at thermo-controlled temperate of 18-20˚C with an average maceration time of 10-12 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in November in steel and thereafter aged in part 2.25 hectolitre French oak barrels and part in 3 hectolitre French oak barrels.
Meats cooked in the oven (like pork and chicken with red sauce), light dishes in the grill (like mushrooms or smoked pork).
