Exuding vibrant cherry fruit characteristics with mocha and dark chocolate on the palate. It is flavoursome, rich and balanced with integrated oak and a long smooth finish. This is a distinctive Longview wine which has all the attributes that define our Adelaide Hills single vineyard.
2018 was a very cool vintage with intermittent rainfall, prolonging the ripening period and enabling good fruit flavor development without high sugars. Shoot thinning was conducted a month before budburst to improve shoot length and control yields. Bunch thinning prior to flowering and then again during veraison, ensured improved airflow and reduced bunch variability further improving fruit quality.

Winemaking Notes
The LV Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced entirely from Longview's vineyard at Macclesfield, Adelaide Hills. The fruit was harvest in cool conditions, crushed and fermented for 14 days on skins, then gently pressed and matured for 12 months in new French and old American oak hogsheads.

90 Points - Martin Field. "Deep ruby to the eye with purple edges. The nose reminded me of crushed ripe blackberries and it also has a little oaky vanillin in the background. The medium-weighted palate is dryish and displays a really nice balance of fruit, youthful acidity and mild astringency. A lovely dinner style."
